Not every manufacturer of boots for women understands how to make a proper rainboot for women. Some are super cute, but practically useless.
Some are constructed to keep the moisture out, but are aesthetically un-appealing, shall we say. It isn’t always that you get the looks and the function together in one boot, but there are certainly gems out there.

The designs on these are second to none – and there are over thirty to choose from, some of them quite arty!
These are comfortable to wear and this is always good news as we know, that some rubber rain boots are anything but a pleasant wearing experience.
They need to be, because generally speaking, you are probably not going to be contemplating wearing calf length rubber boots for the pure love of wearing rubber. Unless, of course, you are, in which case… er carry on!
Comfortable and pretty to look at is a good combination, but the most important thing to know is, while these are water resistant, they are not fully waterproofed.
This is an important distinction. They will keep your feet dry in falling rain, but no plunging into deep water in them!
Out of all our pick, these are the only boots where the advice is to go down a size, rather than up. Because these run large, it may offer hope to those who find getting rain boots to fit them!

If you are looking for some elegance in the rain, then these could be your choice. The Olivia is very sleek and runs quite narrow at the opening.
Alike many of our rainboots, these also come with the recommendation that you size up. But once you have done, you should be in luck.
Maybe they won’t last forever, but they shouldn’t leave you totally in the lurch either.
Wearing experience says they are better than most and aren’t going to hurt – which is always good!
As well as being reliably waterproof, these also have decent traction so that you won’t slip or trip either, making them a good choice perhaps for muddy locations.
All round, these come highly recommended.

Available in nice, bold, strong colors, these are predominantly a fashion boot. But they hold up well in the rain.
Because, believe it or not, not every single rain boot is technically 100% waterproof – some are more rain proof than others – but these are some of the tougher ones.
From a comfort point of view, we haven’t heard anything bad about these and with over two thousand verified purchases on Amazon, we feel confident that if there were any significant problems with them, we would have heard about them by now.
The only piece of advice that we can give is that these are a narrow fit, especially in the calves. So unfortunately, if you have larger or more muscular calves, you may have trouble getting these to fit.
These wear well and look super glossy, which will not fade with time.
Good in snow? We think so, although we think you might get a little cold unless you line them or put on thick socks first. This is usually the case for most rubber rain boots in the snow, though.
Overall, these score highly with us for being pretty to look at, good to wear and actually keep our feet dry. The only thing that loses any points is the fact you need to be slim to wear them.

The good news is that these really do seem water proof and are a comfortable wearing experience. The bad news is, once again, anyone with larger calves may have problems getting these on.
It is advisable to order two sizes up of these Puddles if you want them to fit. Overall though, customers are satisfied and we are too.

If you are looking for smart as well as sassy and like having an infinite number of possible combinations, then look no further than these Welly Print boots by Joules.
There are so many styles to choose from, we actually gave up trying to count them all!
These are stylish and original, without being too loud or wacky, so if it is sophistication you are after, we think this is pretty much the last word in it.
Waterproof and comfortable, the only slight drawback once again is they may not fit the wider calf, but this is less of a problem than it is with some other styles.
