Being constantly stuck at work and having absolutely no physical activity whatsoever, I decided to change my life style a bit.
A month ago, my wife and I decided to start hiking, so we bought our first pair of hiking boots, and new sweat pants. We were really committed to do this!
We started off slow, but a month later found us literally addicted to nature, regular hiking adventures, and a much more healthy life style!
I ended up buying myself my first pair of Salomon mid length hiking boots, A.K.A. the Salomon Men’s X Ultra Mid 2 GTX Multifunctional Hiking Boot.
After a month of wearing them every weekend for three-four hours, I can say that I am a pretty happy camper with these boots.
First of all, my feet and my back don’t hurt any more.
I know that it has something to do with physical activity and getting out of the rut of sitting in front of a computer all day long, and then in front of the TV.
For sure, these boots are doing a great job for my feet, and for my posture in general.
The uppers are made of leather, combined with breathable polyester mesh that makes these boots flexible, and even more comfortable.
The polyester linings are in fact waterproof, and keep moisture away from the feet. The front part of the boot is firmly secured with a hard toe bumper.
The toe bumpers are practically an indestructible shield that keeps toes protected from harm, pretty much on any terrain.
When you turn the boots around, you will notice another hard part too. That is rear protection, very strong and very protective, but also pretty comfortable too.
I didn’t have any problems walking in these (no blisters on the heels or the ankles) thanks to the padded insides.
Salomon Men’s X Ultra Mid 2 GTX Multifunctional Hiking Boots have lacing closure. As you can see, there are links on the sides of the boot that end in metal D-rings for the laces.
What Salomon did with the tongue was a very smart idea; these Multifunctional Hiking Boots have a gusseted material tongue that keeps debris from entering the boot.
Once you tie the laces, nothing can enter inside. Salomon’s SensifitTM is actually a Sensifit system that is added to cradle the foot for a precise and secure fit.
As it is imprinted on the sides of the shoes, these Salomons boots have GORE-TEX® waterproof liners that let feet breathe.
At the same time, the GORE-TEX® waterproof liners protect the feet from the elements.
My feet remain completely dry, even when we go hiking in the woods after a rain.
My feet are grateful for the cushion-like EVA midsoles that provide me with needed comfort during long hikes, and for the massage like feelings they give me with every step.
Salomon has created hiking boots with thermoplastic urethane inserts that provide me with essential support and stability.
Even though I haven’t tested the boots with any extreme hiking, they were made to endure walking over roots and rocks.
Nothing can affect the comfort on the inside, thanks to the thick rubber outsoles.
Salomon Men’s X Ultra Mid Multifunctional Hiking Boots have Contagrip® rubber outsoles that make them even more suitable for traction; any terrain is good for them, although they were especially made for wild hikes.
These Salomon mid cut hiking boots are coming in seven different colors:
- Beetle Green/Black/Spring Green
- Black / Black / Aluminium & Waterbottle Bundle
- Bettle Green & Waterbottle Bundle
- Gentiane / Black / Blue & Waterbottle Bundle
They do have some extraordinary and modern color combinations that remind me of ski boots. I bought Bettle Green & Waterbottle Bundle….so cool!
I hope that I have helped you make up your mind with my own story. If you decide to get this pair you will not regret it, I assure you.
