Thanks to my doctor’s recommendation I am finally wearing KEEN Women’s Targhee II Waterproof Hiking Boots and they feel wonderful!
I’ve always had problems with my ankles and my arches, so it’s been a challenge for me to find the right boots. but now my orthopedist has actually recommended this pair .
Still a little doubtful, I sat down and read many reviews before I decided to buy them. But you know, I’m so glad that I did!
Their design is so up to date, and makes me feel younger, and to be honest walking in them helps me walk faster and easier.
They aren’t super cheap, but trust me they are worth it, and if you plan to buy good quality shoes, be prepared to invest good money in them.
I don’t regret paying full price for these because I know that I spared my feet discomfort, and got warmth, stability and support in return. (it’s like I’m describing the ideal man).
Here’s a quick video review to show the KEEN Women’s Targhee II shoe in action!
KEEN Women’s Targhee II – Sporty But Elegant Hiking Boots For Women
The great thing is that the KEEN Women’s Targhee II Waterproof Hiking Boots have sport elegance, and yet give my feet the protection and resilience, just like a typical pair of rough hiking boots.
My feet are kept dry, even now when the cold rainy days are here.
I can freely stomp through puddles without worrying that I’ll ruin them, or that my socks will get soaked, all because of the waterproof nubuck upper, that is combined with 4-millimeter multi-directional lugs, and a Keen Dry waterproof membrane.
But this doesn’t mean that the foot is completely suffocated inside. Au contraire, the fabric is breathable and keeps the feet dry and sweat free.
Whether I wear them to work, or hike around town, there is all the support my ankles need. My ankles and my underfoot did not suffer any pain while in these boots.
The Targhee II has the S3 heel structure (Shock, Suspension, and Stability), a dual-density plus the compression-molded EVA midsole, and a Keen Metatomical EVA footbed, all of them working together to weave their magic.
I can’t explain the feeling; you’d simply have to try these on!
The EVA midsole is removable, and therefore easily adjustable on any foot and arch. It is designed especially to naturally follow the contours of the foot.
The heel is approximately 1.5 inches, the front platform about an inch, and the shaft measures 4.5 inches from the arch.
As my doctor explained, these are the perfect measurements when it comes to comfortable shoes. The pain in the arch is no longer there; I don’t even remember I’ve had it.
The genially designed footbed combined with the outsole that keeps the foot firmly on the ground, make the KEEN Women’s Targhee II Waterproof Hiking Boots extremely safe.
It doesn’t matter how old you are, you can wear these and be safe. I can feel the steady grip whenever I walk, and it really doesn’t matter what kind of terrain I walk on.
The 4-millimeter, multi-directional lugs on the Targhee non-marking rubber outsole are spaced wide apart to easily sink their “teeth” into the terrain, so slipping is absolutely out of question.
Toe Protection Is The Cherry On Top
Add the toe bumper protection to this, and you’ve got the ‘cherry on top’. No more stubbed toes! Now, I am completely aware of why KEEN is such a popular brand.
I am really grateful for the whole design. The people at KEEN really know how to make a great pair of boots.
The pull-on loop, on both tongue, and at the rear, make pulling on these boots easy peasy. The strong laces pull snuggly to envelop your feet in absolute comfort.
I believe this pair will last a long time. Are they worth the higher price? You bet!
