Whenever I open my closet and start counting my shoes and boots, I feel a sense of mild panic because there are just too many, and that means I have spent too much money on shoes/boots over the past year. I begin to have these shopping trip flashbacks! And sadly, in most cases, I haven’t worn them more than a few times, and that goes for my winter collection as well. It’s pretty sad, but I am trying to think clearly now.
The time when I used to spend a lot of money on uncomfortable hiking boots, that were hurting my toes and my ankles, is long gone. I have made a pact with myself – if you are going to spend money, spend it wisely, and that goes for shoes too. Being a stay-home mom, I always need to be prepared and ready to go out shopping for groceries, take kids to school, bring them back home, take them to dancing or karate classes…etc.etc.etc.
My daughter and I both purchased the Columbia Women’s Newton Ridge Plus Hiking Boots. She picked the brown ones, and I got the grey ones. We are both beyond content with these boots, especially because we both have low arches, and we need boots that would be super comfortable and super supportive. By purchasing both pairs, we even saved some money, although their price is fairly reasonable.
First of all, I am not one to spend big money on shoes, but when comes to winter boots, they must be a top quality, mid-calf high, and they have got to protect my feet and lower legs from the cold, and keep them ultra warm all the time.
I bought the Oboz Women’s Yellow Stone BDRY Multisport Mid Cut Boots two years ago, and wore them for two winters constantly. If I told you how often, and how far I trudged in heavy, wet snow, and…. the boots still look as good as new, you probably wouldn’t believe me.
Thanks to my doctor’s recommendation I am finally wearing KEEN Women’s Targhee II Waterproof Hiking Boots and they feel wonderful! I’ve always had problems with my ankles and my arches, so it’s been a challenge for me to find the right boots. but now my orthopedist has actually recommended this pair .
I can easily say that KEEN designed the most wonderful waterproof boots and, for someone as picky as I am, these boots are a dream come true! KEEN Women’s Koven Mid-Rise Waterproof Hiking Boots fit perfectly the very first moment I tried them on, as if they were made especially for me.
