What is the point of being under one year old if you can’t let rip occasionally and wear fun stuff?
Let’s face it, your child will have a lifetime of boring clothes and footwear ahead of them – especially when they begin school, but it doesn’t have to start out like that.
If you’re aged zero to twelve months, you can afford to be a little ditsy every now and then. In fact, in our book, you only hit sensible when you get to the geriatric heights of five or six. Then life is over.
This is sad, but your little one’s early footwear adventures should be anything but, so get cozy for a journey through the early years of crib shoes, and prepare to live vicariously through your kiddies.
Remember, baby shoes should be fun, or you’re doing something wrong!
We won’t mince our words here, these shoes could do a little better in the fit stakes, and are mostly made for show, rather than durability.
Principally, you should see these as a party shoe – they aren’t really intended for everyday usage, and do run a little large in the sizing department.
To be fair, this is a common complaint of baby shoes, and not a major issue as your baby will always grow into them.
And also, if you thought about it, you probably wouldn’t expect your party shoes – i.e. a pair of stiletto heels for example – to be particularly hard wearing, or suitable for hoofing it up a mountain.
Of course, no one is going to be walking that far in these sparkly pair, and they are still a comfy and completely appropriate set of shoes for an infant to wear.
Made from PU leather, we have to note that this material is not known for its durability, but this is hardly an issue for the under one year old barely toddling infant, who will soon out grow them.
These are simply fun, and the fixed strap helps ensure they won’t fall off too easily either.
Finally, priced under $10 means that you can’t go too far wrong for your money.
Now all you have to do with these sparkly sensations, is click your heels together three times and wish hard!
Looking for something with a little less bling, but still as cute?
This range of shoes is unisex, although looking at them, we are not entirely sure which are for boys and which are for girls. It may be that this style is genuinely unisex, at least in part.
Possibly there is more here to keep parents of boys happy – which makes a nice change, we must say – but they are not exclusively so. Oddly enough, they are currently listed as being for baby girls, but this may be incorrect.
Made with leather uppers, and a mixture of sole materials, these come in well over twenty different styles. Choose from laces with handy Velcro fasteners, or hollowed out designs. There are more designs than you can shake a stick at, in this range, and it is hard to list them all, so make sure you look through them all carefully.
Whichever style you pick, they seem to be a very comfy fit, with nice soft soles.
Are there any downsides to these? Well, one or two people have reported a funny smell, but this does subside after a while.
In short, these are more grounded than the party shoes, but still pretty jaunty!
Once again, the listing says unisex ,and it is filed under girls for some perplexing reason that this reviewer can’t quite fathom, as this trio of cuties seems to weigh heavily on the boyish side. But we can’t see any reason why this has to be exclusively so.
These are not particularly pricey, and aren’t really intended for heavy duty use, as they are mainly a crib shoe. However, they are cute and soft on developing tootsies, and get the thumbs up from parents everywhere.
At well under ten dollar mark, it is probably best not to expect masses of life out of them, but you may be pleasantly surprised by the performance!
Maybe your little lady is growing up a bit fast, and you are looking for a firmer sole that will provide proper support and protection as she explores the wider world. Here we have some fully leather sandals with an enclosed toe, which is suitable for early walkers.
The leather is soft and supple, and they are deliciously squishy underfoot, yet still firm enough to stop her wandering onto anything sharp that might hurt her.
With a cute little flower attached, these are the perfect combo of style with substance.
Out of this selection there has to be something for your little one, be they a tiny babe in arms or a toddler hellbent on falling over their newfound feet!
