Serious shoes for serious running shouldn’t have to mean boring or frumpy in our view and happily it seems as if manufacturers Asics agree.
For this reason, these are available in many tasty looking colors. Choose between silver/gray/turquoise and lime punch or indigo glow/pink/living coral. If this fails to please, never fear, there is more!
Most of these are cute combinations of pinks and purples, like pink glow/frost but some are bluish in color and some a mixture of all of them like black/aqua mint/flash/ coral. Additionally, there is a cool gray, called frost gray/ silver/ soothing sea.
Not only are these in pretty colors, but they look sweet as well.
Although these are lace ups (with different colored laces, depending on the pair you choose) they look pretty easy to wear as a slip on and off pair of running shoes.
Made from synthetic materials, they have a high impact rubber sole and a gel cushioning system, to help protect delicate feet from the full impact of landing against the concrete.
The soles and grips on them look pretty solid and are also multi colored to match the funky color schemes, this shoe comes in.
So, what are they like to have on?
Available in a half size, so you should be able to get something that matches your feet, these Asics span from a size five to a twelve and accommodate a couple of different widths on the way.
With an 84% approval rating for the sizing, it would seem that Asics have got something right here, so you should be fine to order the size you usually buy without fear.
With a gel cushioning system, to help soothe your feet, it is looking good for the overall comfort level of these sneakers.
They also come with a removable foam sock liner and have a highly absorbent rubber outer sole. In other words, your feet should be more than able to take a pounding in these and they do look as if they truly were built to be able to run a marathon in.
Even if you are not going to enter any long distance running competitions in these, it is good to know that you should be able to clock up a good few miles in these, without them chafing too much.
If you have any podiatric issues, which aren’t too advanced, we think these are a good choice and should offer an adequate level of support.
On the whole, the majority of people who have owned these Asics have testified to their comfort.
There are only a few, for whom they have never gotten through the breaking in process, so on the whole, we are satisfied that you can go running and walking in these in comfort as well as style!
Lastly, even if you work up a sweat; the sweat from your feet should be minimal in these Asics. Yes, we know, most running shoes do not smell like a bed of roses, but these are fairly well ventilated and should serve pretty efficiently as a cooling down system for your feet.
Naturally, the next things you need to know about are how well these perform overall, in road conditions.
These have more than adequate grips on them, to make them be able to deal with slightly wet or slippery conditions.
As we mentioned, your feet shouldn’t sweat to death in them, unless you are a total Sweaty Betty and there is a decent cushioning in them, provided both by the gel and the substantial sole.
But are they waterproof? Well, not really. Whilst they might be able to shrug off a bit of light rain, basically, if you land in a puddle, you are going to get wet!
However, as a lightweight running shoe, for either the gym or the road – in reasonable weather – these perform extremely well.
The overall ratings for these sneakers is extremely high. 67% of customers have given them a five-star review and the average rating is 4.4 out of five. This is pretty good going, we have to say.
Things that people like about them are; the wide selection of colors available, the cuteness and the style, but also the comfort level that these sneakers provide.
They also enjoy the support for their arches and the above average gripes and soles, which means the slightest little patch of damp will not see you skidding ass over tit. These are all things to be welcomed in something that is primarily meant as a running shoe.
Able to withstand hours of constant wearing is also important, we think, too and these make that mark, so they don’t need to just be left in your gym locker after a training session – you could wear them all day if you wanted to.
In fact, they’re so pretty, it seems a shame to hide them away and only use them for runs!
There have only been a very small percentage of people who didn’t like these running shoes and that was usually because they had been sent the wrong size or in a minority of cases, the shoes they were sent were defective.
Most people’s experience is very positive.
These are not the cheapest, but nor are they the most expensive running shoe out there.
They aren’t waterproof, but should be able to withstand a brief, very light shower.
But they are highly comfortable and practical and capable of withstanding hours of training in. They fit snugly and look cute.
