ECCO Women’s Yucatan Sandal Review

As a woman who wears size 12 and has pretty wide feet, I can’t be more grateful for the ECCO Women’s Yucatan Sandals.

I have always been disappointed with sport sandals because they either weren’t wide enough for my feet (in this case the front hook-and-loop strap is working its magic for me), or the manufacturer didn’t bother to make sandals in my size. It was so frustrating for me, especially because I have spent many summers wearing uncomfortable slip-ons, or sneakers that made my feet sweaty and stinky.

Lightweight Women’s Walking Footwear

Finally, I was able to get sandals in my size. My very first pair of ECCO Women’s Yucatan Sandals surprised me pleasantly with its light weight, and its special design that provides ultimate comfort. I bought the Silver ones. Not only are they noticeable, but they are pretty cool and look like foot jewelry.

As I said, I have wide feet and the three hook-and-loop straps that come with these sandals make it much easier for me to adjust my sandals the way I want. Made of stretch-fit material on the inside, the lining feels quite soft on the skin, but is also practical; you don’t even have to adjust the Velcro hook-and-loop if you have narrow feet.

Wiggle Your Toes!

The flexible fabric on the inside allows me to actually move my toes, thanks to this elastic fabric. The upper part of the straps is made of Nubuck which is velvety to the touch, and is some of the most expensive leather to purchase. Compared to other leathers, it is far more durable.

The design is amazing; I love that these aren’t just tiny little straps, but they secure my feet well, without any possibility of slipping, or losing the sandal while walking. They aren’t recommended for water, so I definitely don’t recommend you wear the sandals for swimming.

The whole design is made to function perfectly, so the top part of the sandal is attached on a very comfortable and soft footbed treated with Dual density as well as with Agion, and covered with CMEVA that makes it completely unattractive for bacterial growth. Maybe all these words mean nothing to you, but when you put the ECCO Women’s Yucatan Sandals on your feet, and wear them for a while without getting any nasty door,( especially if you have foot odor problems like me), you’ll see that all these things are very important, and very helpful.

RECEPTOR Technology

The midsole is directly injected with PU featuring full length RECEPTOR Technology. I’ve been told, and I experienced it myself, that the ECCO Women’s Yucatan Sandals have superior grip and traction on any terrain. Walking in these sandals feels like walking on soft clouds, whether you walk down the street, hike in the woods or wear them for long walks around the city. I have never worn anything as comfortable, lighter or more flexible. I can even run in my ECCO Women’s Yucatan Sandals.

No kidding, I tried, and they weren’t slippery on any surface. That’s because the outsole is rubber, very durable, and thick enough to endure long walks on any terrain.

The heel has a good fall, and gives my arch wonderful support. As you can see, they are about an inch high, and there are no extreme differences in the height of the front and back of the outsole. The outsole provides enough height to keep one’s foot away from unpleasant terrain.

Comfortable & Durable

I enjoy wearing these, and I know that they will be good for a few more summers, because they passed my first summer test – I didn’t spare them, I literally wore them everywhere, and for the longest possible time. Nothing happened; they didn’t lose color, the Velcro is still untouched, the rubber outsole is as good as new, and the footbed still feels as comfortable as the first day I bought them. I recommend the ECCO Women’s Yucatan Sandals for their durability, their great design, and of course their comfort.
